Information

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

All POWERAMP® PR Series dock levelers incorporate the use of hydraulics to raise and lower both the platform and lip. A single push button activates a hydraulic pump for operating both lip and hoist cylinders. Systems, LLC is an active member of Loading Dock Equipment Manufacturers (LODEM), a product section of the Material Handling Industry. Unit conforms to OSHA, U.S. Department of Commerce Standard CS-202-56 and is manufactured in compliance with the American National Standard of Safety Performance and Testing of Dock Leveling Devices (ANSI) MH 30.1. Unit manufactured by Systems, LLC.

CONSTRUCTION

The platform is constructed of ¼” thick 4-way high tensile 50,000 minimum yield A572 steel safety treadplate. A 3/8” treadplate is used on the 80,000 & 120,000 lb Comparative Industry Rating (CIR) units. Platform is reinforced and supported by full-length structural “C” channels and/or “I” beams. Front and rear header plate is of either ½” x 7” or ½” x 8” hot rolled steel. POWERAMP lips are made of 4-way safety treadplate, the 30,000, 35,000 and the 40,000 lb CIR are 5/8” thick, the 45,000, 50,000 & 60,000 lb CIR are 3/4” thick. Lip-plates for the 80,000 & 120,000 lb CIR units are 1” T1 smooth plate with non-skid abrasive coating. Standard lip length 16” on 30,000, 40,000, 45,000, & 50,000 CIR, 18” on 60,000, 80,000 & 120,000 CIR. Hinge tubes are 1 3/4” OD x 5/16” wall, 1 7/8” x 3/8” wall, 2 1/8” x ½” wall, 2 5/8” x 3/4” wall or 3 1/8 x 1’ wall depending upon CIR. All lip hinge pins are 1” M1044 steel. Steel lip gusset are standard on all models 50,000 lb CIR and above. Steel header gussets are standard on all models 35,000 lb CIR and above. All platforms are designed to compensate for up to 4” of canted truck beds.

HYDRAULICS

Fluid Logic block is a close-grained ductile casting with precision machined “logic” paths and ports for control of all hydraulic functions. Hoist cylinder is 3 ½” hard chrome-plated hollow ram design. Lip operation is controlled by a cylinder having a 2 ½” ID bore and is fully yieldable. Lip cylinder is nickel plated for extended durability. Every hoist cylinder is equipped with an integral tamperproof velocity safety stop to limit free fall of loaded platform to 3”(±1”). Hydraulic system is designed to operate at low pressures from 275 to 325 psi. Deck mounted pump and motor assembly keeps clear of debris accumulation in pit and provides convenient access for routine inspection. Service access/nspection plate in deck permits fluid level inspection and adjustments from inside the building when leveler is in stored position.

STANDARD OPERATIONAL FEATURES

Quick cycle lip control and deck mounted control is available through dual lanyard located at the rear of the platform, provided as standard on PR Series levelers. Service range is from 12” above to 12” below dock level. Lip keepers welded to frame members provide night-time security and cross-traffic support. Safety yellow, full operating range, folding & locking, toe guards are provided as standard. Maintenance prop with ‘Lock-out Tag-out’ capability is provided as standard. Automatic return to dock from above and below dock is standard. Factory finish includes rust inhibitive prime coat industrial grade finish. Special coating and colors are optional. Each PR Series leveler is shipped with two (2) (B412-14) 4 ½” thick, 12”h x 14”w dock bumpers. 6” thick bumpers provided as standard on 60,000, 80,000 and 120,000 lb CIR. Note: Altering pit depth from the recommended 24” may affect service range and options such as folding/locking toe guards and platform mounted power pack. Consult factory to determine service range and available options.
